How to use these numbers
- Set an alert, not a search habit. Put the "good price" figure into a Google Flights price alert for your dates and let it tell you when the route drops.
- Book 6–10 weeks ahead for shoulder season, and 12–16 weeks for Diwali, Christmas, New Year and Songkran, when every route above runs 30–45% over its typical price.
- Check the baggage. Low-cost fares to Bangkok often exclude checked bags; adding 20kg each way can wipe out the saving.
- Compare Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi. A cheaper DMK arrival costs an extra hour and about 400 baht to reach central Bangkok.
- Consider splitting the ticket — a domestic hop to Kolkata or Chennai plus a cheap short-haul to Bangkok can beat a one-stop international fare from a smaller city, though you lose connection protection.
Benchmarks are editorial estimates based on observed fares, not live pricing. Always confirm the final price with the airline before booking.
