- If the Andaman coast is rained out, cross to the Gulf — Koh Samui's dry season runs roughly opposite to Phuket's.
- Fares from India track Indian holidays more than Thai weather. Mid-November and early February are the classic value windows in an otherwise peak season.
- Avoid Songkran (13–15 April) unless you specifically want the water festival; hotels sell out and city transport stalls.
- Skip Chiang Mai in March and early April — burning-season haze regularly pushes air quality past Delhi-winter levels.
